Now available: Python toolkit for using new data services APIs

EUMETSAT have released a Python-based toolkit for users that wish to exploit the its new data services in a programmatic fashion via the available application programming interfaces (APIs).

This toolkit, which consists of a series of Jupyter Notebooks, covers the following services;

  • EUMETView

  • EUMETSAT Data Store

  • EUMETSAT Data Tailor

It contains general background on the API framework, and examples of how to use them to;

  • interface with the EUMETView Web Map, Web Coverage and Web Feature services.

  • exploit the Data Store APIs to discover collections, and to filter for and download products.

  • pass Data Store products to the Data Tailor, customise them and retrieve the corresponding tailored data.

The repository can be found at https://gitlab.eumetsat.int/eumetlab/data-services/eumetsat-python-for-data-services and will continue to evolve as more features are released.

If you have feedback on the repository, we invite you to contact us via the EUMETSAT user helpdesk at ops@eumetsat.int.
